Fleece Processing Techniques
This 3 hour workshop will take you through all of the main processes from the raw fleece to fibre ready for spinning into yarn – literally a journey from sheep to ‘knitwear ready’ in one session.
We will provide a wide variety of fibres and processing equipment for you to try such as alpaca, lamb locks and various raw sheep fleece. Learn to make batts, rolags and roving ready for dyeing, felting or to take straight to the spinning wheel to turn into yarn.
The session is suitable for both absolute beginners learning from scratch and also those with some prior knowledge, who will be able to develop new techniques using the processing equipment on a variety of unusual fibres. Feel free to also bring some of your own fibres along if you would like to make some truly unique art batts!
